NOMAD PROJECT (NOvel Energy Storage Technologies usable at MilitAry Deployments in Forward Operating Bases) NOMAD addresses the reduction of energy dependence and the improvement of energy security in bases, camps and other infrastructures isolated from energy networks, through the development of technologies and their adaption and validation for use in military environments. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the European Defence industry in the field of energy storage, evaluating technologies and systems, and validating them in relevant environments. NOMAD is coordinated by Spanish company ARPA and it is led by the Spanish Ministry of Defence. It involves 18 partners from 8 European Union Member States (Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain) plus Norway.
